Each of the manufacturers we have chosen to do business with, and their respective products, have been carefully selected based on their quality and consistently outstanding reviews by consumers. While you may find that every diaper system is not necessarily right for every family, you can rest assured that the products you buy from us are high quality goods made by innovative industry leaders. You will also find that if you are unhappy with your purchase, for any reason - even after you've used the items - that we have a generous Returns Policy, as outlined on this page. If there are items you would like that we don't have in stock, or other products you would like to see us carry that we don't currently offer, please feel free to contact us - we will be happy to place special orders for you and welcome your suggestions for new products. Inventory & Stock Levels  by 
We are an "in-stock" store, meaning that what you see available for purchase online is in our inventory & ready to be shipped out to you. There are very few exceptions to this (such as newborn diaper rental packages) and these items will clearly state their respective order processing time frames.

We try to keep our inventory as up-to-date as possible, but mistakes do happen, and occasionally you may place an order for something that is not in stock. If an item you've ordered is unavailable, we will contact you. You may decide to wait for your product, make a substitution, or accept a refund for that part of your order.  You may cancel your order at any time prior to shipping.

Please note, if you do not see an option available (ie: specific colors or sizes) to add to your cart then we do not currently have that item in stock. If you are interested in something that is out of stock please contact us for information on when that item will be available, or add yourself to the waiting list for that item, where applicable. We will also be happy to order the item for you if you would like a specific option that we do not currently have in stock. We can typically have it on your doorstep within 1-2 weeks, provided it is not on back order through the manufacturer.

We accept the following forms of payment: Visa, MasterCard, Discover, American Express, and bank-funded transactions. Payments are processed through PayPal - no PayPal account is required to complete your payment.  There is no surcharge for using your credit card to make purchases. Please be sure to provide accurate billing and shipping addresses, email and telephone number.  Incorrect information will cause a delay in processing your order.

Returns  by 

Our goal is for you to be 100% satisfied with your purchase. However, we know that is not always possible. Please let us know immediately if your item does not meet your expectations. If you received the wrong item due to an error on our part we will correct it as quickly as possible at our expense.

To make a return please simply log in to your online account* and view your recent orders. Click on "View Details" for the order containing the items you wish to return and then click "Add New RMA" to initiate the Return Merchandise Authorization process. Fill in the information and submit your request.  Shortly after you've submitted this form you will receive an email confirmation with additional details.

*If you do not have an online account please contact us and we'll initiate the return process for you.

New & Unused Merchandise

We will accept returns of new merchandise for up to 60 days after your order shipment date, or 60 days after the birth of your child, whichever is greater. All new merchandise must be in resalable condition: unused, unwashed, and in original condition including any packaging and/or tags attached. We will not accept items that have pet hair, dirt, stains/marks of any kind, or odors of any kind, including smoke. Please include a copy of your receipt in your package.

Your refund will be issued in your original form of payment (gift certificates will be refunded prior to other forms of payment such as credit cards), minus a 10% restocking fee. The restocking fee will be waived for exchanges or refunds issued in store credit. You will receive your refund or store credit based on the amount you paid for the item, including any sales prices, coupons, or package discounts. Please note that we do not refund shipping costs.  Any items received that are not in resalable condition as described above will be processed under the Washed & Worn Merchandise policy, outlined below.

Washed & Worn Merchandise - includes cloth diapers, diaper covers, inserts/doublers, training pants & swim diapers

We will accept returns on your used but clean and stain-free items for up to 30 days after your order shipment date, or 30 days after the birth of your child, whichever is greater. Please include a copy of your receipt in your package. Please note that we do not refund shipping costs for your original order.  You will receive store credit equal to the amount you paid for the item(s), minus a 10% restocking fee, for your washed and worn items (when outside of any applicable manufacturer's guarantee period for that product).

Store credit ONLY will be offered, and returned items must be in excellent used condition. We will not accept items that have frays, pilling, pet hair, dirt, stains or marks of any kind, or odors of any kind, including smoke. Any items that do not meet our condition criteria will be returned to you at your expense. 

Please note, sales on all gently used and clearance items are final and these items may not be returned.

Defective Merchandise

Most manufacturers prefer to handle the issue of defective merchandise. Please visit our Manufacturer Warranties page for more detailed information regarding each company's policy. You may also feel free to contact us and we can assist you with your return or exchange with the manufacturer of your product.

Sales Tax  by 
An 8.5% sales tax will be charged to all orders for South Carolina residents.  For orders shipped to other states, you are solely responsible for all sales taxes or other taxes.

Shipping  by 

Shipping Time - Orders will generally be processed and shipped within 1 business day... though we often ship same-day, and even on most Saturdays!

Transit time will be based on the shipping method you've selected.  Economy shipping means we will select the least expensive method available.  Particularly with heavier items, large orders, and/or longer distances from our shop (in Charleston, SC) this method will likely be Parcel Post, which means your order may be in transit for up to 9 days (or more) after the shipping date.  If your order falls into one of those categories then we highly recommend selecting the Priority Mail option to ensure that your order will reach you within 2 - 3 days after the shipping date!  If you have a smaller/lighter order being shipped to a location closer to our shop (on the east coast) then the least expensive (economy) option might be First Class or Priority Mail mail anyway, so opting for Priority Mail may not be necessary.  (If you'd like to know prior to placing your order if the Priority Mail option would benefit you, please add all of the items you wish to purchase to your shopping cart, login or create an online account so we can find your saved cart in the system, and then contact us and we'll let you know what your 'economy method' of shipping would be.)

* A handling fee may apply to a select few items which are heavy and/or bulky to ship, and this will be noted on the product listing for those items.

Packages are shipped via USPS (unless otherwise requested by contacting us prior to placing your order), and optional insurance may be purchased during checkout. Once a package has shipped we are not responsible for its delivery - therefore insuring your shipment is highly recommended. All items will be sent with delivery confirmation or tracking number.

Shipping Insurance is based on USPS rates, as follows:
Up to $50.00 = $1.85
$50.01 - $100.00 = $2.35
$100.01 - $200.00 = $2.90
$200.01 - $300.00 = $4.85
$300.01 - $400.00 = $5.95
$400.01 - $500.00 = $7.05
Over $500.00 = (coverage only available up to $500)

FREE Local Order Pick Up
Shipping fees are waived for local customers (or visitors to the Lowcountry!) who would prefer to pick up their order at our retail store - simply choose Pick up at our James Island Store during checkout.

Your order will generally be available for pick up within an hour or two if it's during our normal business hours (view our location/hours information page).  Otherwise, we'll get it ready for you the next day we're open.  When your order is complete & ready for pickup, you will receive an email notification. Then you can simply visit our store at your convenience during regular retail hours to pick up your order!  If you can't make it during those days/times, simply contact us and we'll be happy to arrange a different time that works with your schedule.

International Customers
We currently only ship to United States addresses and APO's.  We apologize for any inconvenience.  Please feel free to contact us if you have questions.

Typographical Errors  by 
In the event a product is listed at an incorrect price due to typographical error or error in pricing information received from our suppliers, Modern Cloth shall have the right to refuse or cancel any orders placed for product listed at the incorrect price. Our Store shall have the right to refuse or cancel any such orders whether or not the order has been confirmed and your credit card charged. If your credit card has already been charged for the purchase and your order is canceled, Modern Cloth shall immediately issue a credit to your credit card account in the amount of the incorrect price.
